A late 19th / early 20th Century German silver singing bird box in the manner of Karl Griesbaum, its fretted rectangular top relief decorated in a Baroque revival pattern of foliate scrollwork, blossoms and a cherub, set with green glass cabochons and centred by a hand-enamelled floral pearlescent oval cover opening to reveal an automaton singing bird, the sides of the box bearing relief vignettes of seventeenth-century jolliment, raised on four pierced foliate scroll feet, with bird-form winding key, 11.5 x 7.5 x 6 cm
