A fine George III inlaid mahogany bookcase secretaire chest, the upper stage having a dentil cornice, guilloche marquetry inlaid frieze and a pair of geometrically astragal glazed doors enclosing adjustable wooden shelves, the secretaire of serpentine form, feather banded and tulip-and-boxwood string inlaid, the secretaire fall opening to reveal an arrangement of drawers and pigeon holes centred by a compass star inlaid door, above graded cock-beaded drawers with gilt rococo bale handles, the whole on bracket feet (reduced), 122 x 70 x 230 cm
